Part 1 of my experience can be found here . Day 3 First line of business for Saturday was to get a wristband at the Tokidoki booth for a signing with its creator, Simone Legno. I've managed to do this several years in a row, minus one year when I didn't get to their booth in time He signed a small figure and did a sketch of Bastardino (aka Cactus Dog). It's one of the very few signings during the convention that I feel isn't much of a hassle to get into. Prior to the signing, my friend and I roamed the exhibit hall. We checked out a few booths that we had missed and also ran into some familiar faces. Danny Trejo visits the My Little Pony throne. The Walking Dead producer Greg Nicotero chats with attendees. Last month's pages were all about SDCC since I didn't do anything else interesting leading up to the event. I often lag on putting pages from large events like this together because I hate experiencing the withdrawal all over again. Luckily I didn't feel it too much this time. Running into so many friends during my 5 days at the convention, along with the events that I was able to attend, made it very memorable.  

Although I had fun this year at SD Comic-Con, I didn't get to do as much compared to last year, even though I had a few things planned ahead of time. One major downside for this year was my lodging situation. I had to relocate 3 times, starting with a friend's time share, then to a hotel with other friends, then to another friend's condo, and then finally to a friend's house outside of downtown. It was exhausting! Because of that, I didn't have enough energy to check off much of my to-do list. Still, I tried to make the best out of my 5 days at the convention. If there's one thing that adds to the geek aesthetic of Comic-Con, it's the cosplay. A combination of the words costume and play , these outfits are what you would see both in and outside of the Convention Center. These range anywhere from popular Television shows, to movie characters, to Japanese anime. The possibilities are endless when it comes to cosplay. I've also included photos of myself and other attendees who've decided to dress for the occasion. In 2010, I was Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII . Although a pretty simple costume, it was made out of faux leather material, which would easily get hot while walking outside. It wasn't one of the more familiar get ups. Unless you played any Final Fantasy game, you wouldn't really know who I was. Despite that, I did manage to get noticed a few times. Yuna (FFX), Tifa (FFVII), and Vanille (FFXIII) With the cutest Hit Girl at the convention I also dressed up as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider . ...

Part 3 of my weekly SDCC posts highlights a few of the events outside of the convention that I've attended. Several are held throughout the weekend in which either attendees of SDCC and/or those without badges can partake. They are also either free or paid. For a few consecutive years, I've gone to Nerd HQ , which has been held alongside SDCC with daily events and small celebrity panels. Actor Zachary Levi, founder of The Nerd Machine, formed a partnership with Break Media to bring Nerd HQ to SDCC since 2011. The locations for this off site have varied, bringing a different experience with each passing year. The panels, better known as Conversations for a Cause, have also varied. A few friends have attended the latter, which presents a more intimate setting since each conversation can only accommodate a small audience.
