Hello Kitty Cafe Truck at Santana Row

Before heading to a bbq in the afternoon, much of my morning was spent waiting for the Hello Kitty Cafe truck at Santana Row in San Jose. This was the 3rd of 4 stops it would be making in the Bay Area for April. It was at the Cherry Blossom Festival a few weeks prior. That was where I saw it for the first time last year. Long story short, I was the first person in line for their Northern California debut, and it was totally unplanned. I knew I'd be there early, but not so much that everyone else had no clue where to find them. Goes to show that researching ahead of time (and also several years of experience at SD Comic Con) pays off!

Although I wasn't first this time, I did happen to be among the first 10 people in line. Lucky number 7 to be exact. 2 other friends joined me before the truck opened for business. I didn't have too much of a haul planned, but I did want to get my friend one of their mugs as a belated bridal shower gift. I also got her one of the cookie sets, which looked too cute to eat. Although I'm pretty sure she did anyway.

I also got a mug for myself and a box of their macarons. The mug is a new item for this year, and they've included a mystery character for their macarons. Very cute!

If they plan on making an appearance at SDCC like last year, I might grab a few more items. The line probably won't be too crazy since everyone else will be geeking out at the Convention Center. *fingers crossed*
